  • School is out

Well, I have finished another year with no big excitement.  Graduation was yesterday. It was nice to see how some of these kids have grown up.

Algebra Academy starts on Tues. We shall see how that goes. I already feel like I am in over my head.  I am not a math major. This should be interesting.

We have been plagued with storms and tornadoes the past couple of weeks. One storm tore through one of the back streets in town.  Tore up the park, stores, golf course, and some homes. I feel for all those dealing with clean up.

I continue to write with novel three winding up. I have the start of two more. I am learning as much as I can about witness protection. It is key to one of my new books.  The other new one has to do with a haunted ? house.  Do you believe in ghosts?

I am slowly reclaiming my house and it feels good. I will feel better when I can look at my living room with pride instead of looking at it and saying, "where do I start?" All in good time. I have to get the two sofas cleaned off so there will be a place for the kids to sleep when they come to visit.

I am frustrated with my cell phone. It is not keeping it's charge and I have to charge it in my car to get any power.  Lot of good that does me if someone is trying to reach me.  I just need to keep it going until July 2.  I am eligible for a new phone by then.

Am taking a break now to watch the race in Brooklyn.  Hope my driver or drivers win. I cheer for more than one. Can't seem to make up my mind.

Hope you all find time to walk, swim, enjoy the warm weather, read, write, or do your hobbies on rainy days.

  • Where has the time gone?

Out of the Flames is selling off the shelves faster than I can put them there.  I am well into the third novel. Still don't have a name for it.  I'm sure it will come to me.

Megan is into her second competitive season.  She had a 36.85 at the state qualifier. The state meet proved to be very brutal on a young girl with a pulled muscle in her leg.  She got a 36.15 and was second on bars and second all around.

I have been doing a lot of in service this year.  Either after school or during the school day.  I am on information overload.  I will be at IPD conference in Dearborn this week and into the week-end.  I leave on Wed. The conference starts at 8am with a breakfast meeting.  Then we are going to Greektown Casino on Thurs night and to Greenfield Village on Friday night.

Not much else is going on.  Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and are or will be home safely.

  • The Book Is Now on Sale

Out of the Flames went on sale on Friday.  I am now just waiting to see those orders pile in.

I should have a small royalty check from Infinity in November.  Those are always welcome.  Secrets is not selling as well as I had hoped it would.  I really need to do double marketing now.

I have started a new med to help combat my diabetes.  I have consulted a wonderful endocrinologist and we are treating it very aggressively.  I am using Byetta. (you will find details at www.byetta.com). The fact that it is injectable was a bit frightening to me, however; I am handling it ok so far.  We shall see how it goes.  I am taking one day at a time.

Megan's meet season will start this coming week-end.  The first meet is in Saginaw, not so far for me to drive.  I am looking forward to seeing the progress she made over the summer.  I think she will surprise us all.

Not much else going on in my life.  I still need to hook up my VCR and DVD players.  I'm hoping to get to it this week-end.  I have a very important video to watch.  I am really looking forward to it.

For now I'm off to bed.
